4. Interior Defensive Line

Again, this is a position the Giants hit hard in 2016 and found success with Damon Harrison. However, just like the edge, the Giants may be heading back to the well to find some depth help and a big name to put next to Harrison.

Johnathan Hankins is a free agent, and by all indications, there is a better chance that Pierre-Paul is back than Hankins. The Giants, with the pride that they have in their front, cannot let one or two starters go from the unit without subsequent replacements. There is a better chance that the Giants can find a replacement in free agency at this position than on the edge as well.

Nick Fairley, Bennie Logan, and Alan Branch would be great fits next to Harrison. They also could go for a home run fit, if he is on the market and look for Kawann Short of the Panthers. It would make for the most dominant duo in the trenches in the league.

If they are unable to upgrade via free agency, this could also be a position that could be hit in the first couple rounds of the draft. It may not be the first round, but even with a smaller free agent addition, expect at least one interior player selected from this year’s class.
