1. Linebacker

There is almost no doubt about it, linebacker is the team’s biggest weak spot. It was consistently exposed, especially in the passing game as receiving backs and tight ends consistently hurt the team. Keenan Robinson and Kelvin Shepard will be free agents this offseason, and while Devon Kennard and Jonathan Casillas among a few others will be back, none of these names are inspiring, or bring hope for a big 2017 season.

The Giants will need to hit this position hard, and they will need to find some potential big names to hit it with. However, looking at the free agent pool, this may be a tougher area to solve than some of the others. Depth names are the best names, and they could be looking at guys such as A.J. Klein, Bruce Carter, or Kevin Minter to fill the voids.

That leaves the draft. The problem is, like free agency, there may not be much boom by the time they are picking in round one. Jabrill Peppers becomes an interesting question. He is dynamic and played linebacker in college. However, he is likely too small to fill the hole in the NFL and would fit better in a role similar to what Landon Collins does.

With Reuben Foster clearly off of the board, it will be interesting to see if they can hit the need. If it does not come in the first round, when will it come? Again, the team has depth, but they need major talent in the area. It will be the toughest puzzle to solve, and they may need to get creative to see better play out of their linebacker unit in 2017.
