2017 NFL Combine: 10 Players to Watch
By John Buhler
Nobody had a better week of practice at the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl than Temple pass rusher Haason Reddick. The guy did not lose a rep at Senior Bowl practice playing for the North. The North team was coached by John Fox’s Chicago Bears staff. There was nothing that the Bears staff threw at Reddick he couldn’t handle.
Reddick showed in Mobile that he can rush with a hand in the dirt, get after the quarterback out on the edge, drop back into coverage, and even make plays at inside linebacker. If this guy can do half of what he did in Mobile at the Senior Bowl when he goes to Indianapolis, maybe Reddick goes in the first round?
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves to say that Reddick is the next Khalil Mack, but this mid-major defensive prospect looks to be the real deal. Look for him to do work in the cone drills. If he goes off in just one of the events at the combine, some team will seriously consider taking him in the first round.
Reddick has built such great momentum for himself coming out of Temple. The Owls won the American in his final year with the program. Temple football players don’t go in the first round, but this could be a reality thanks to a player of Reddick’s caliber.
