2. Charlotte Hornets

Conflicting reports came from Charlotte after Aaron McMann reported that Jennings may be interested in the Hornets. However, ESPN’s Marc Stein reported a different take on the situation.

Although, it would be head scratching for Jennings to leave New York and join a team that’s technically only 2.5 games above them in the standings, especially with Jennings’ stated desire to play for a playoff team.

There is still some logic here. Briante Weber is in the process of developing. Jennings would be a clear upgrade over Sessions who has struggled this season averaging 6.2 points in 16.2 minutes of play. The Hornets second unit could benefit from Jennings’ playmaking ability allowing Kemba to get more rest as he carries the load offensively. Jennings’ 8.6 points per game on 38 percent shooting from the field, on top of his 34 percent shooting on 3-pointers, may not look attractive. But he could impact Charlotte’s chances for the eighth seed.
