John Ross

WR, Washington

The Tennessee Titans have to be happy with the state of the organization as they into the 2017 offseason. Despite the fact that quarterback Marcus Mariota saw his season end with a broken leg, the Titans are definitely trending upwards, and a healthy Mariota could signal the Titans heading back to the playoffs. They will pick twice in the first round in April, and while this pick at No. 18 may be traded, we will mock it up with them holding onto the pick.

The Titans will definitely make a play to improve their secondary with their first pick in round one, which the team got thanks to trading the first overall pick in last April’s draft to the Los Angeles Rams. With the second pick, expect the team to bring in a top wide receiver, and Washington’s John Ross should be available to them at No. 18. Ross was an explosive player on one of the best teams in college football last season, and he should be able to bring that big playmaking ability to the NFL.

Mariota took a major step forward last season, but he still needs a playmaking wide receiver if he is going to make the next jump. Tajae Sharpe and Rishard Mathews played well last season, but neither can be counted on to produce on a weekly basis. The Titans are loaded at running back, so adding a star wide receiver to an already explosive offense could be just what the team needs to make a return to the playoffs in 2017.
