Charles Harris

DE/OLB, Missouri

The 2016 season ended with a blowout loss to the New England Patriots, but the Pittsburgh Steelers have to be happy with how far the team has come over the past few seasons. The Steelers are absolutely loaded on offense, and if they can bring in some talent on defense, they should be able to contend once again next year. The offense will have all their stars back next season, as both Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell were locked up earlier this week.

On defense, the Steelers are starting to get a bit long in the tooth, and they need to bring in some new talent in some key spots. James Harrison has long been the face of the defense, and despite the fact he is incredible shape, his time as the team’s leader on that side of the ball has to be coming to an end. The Steelers need to bring in somebody who can fill that role, and Charles Harris from Missouri has a very similar skill set as Harrison.

Harris has played defensive end at Missouri, but he could actually move over to outside linebacker at the next level. Wherever he plays, Harris will be the kind of player who can get after the quarterback, and he should be available to the Steelers this late in round one. Playing alongside Harrison early in his career will only help Harris, who has the physical ability to be a dominant force from either defensive end, or linebacker in the NFL.
