Jamal Adams

S, LSU

Things seem to be looking up in Jacksonville, where the organization brought in a familiar face this offseason to run football operations. Tom Coughlin will be making the big decisions for the Jags going forward, and he has already put a wrinkle into next year’s starting lineup. Coughlin has said that the team is not going to commit to Blake Bortles being the starting quarterback next season, which may be the best things Jags fans have heard in years.

While the offense looks for a new quarterback, maybe, the defense needs to get better in the secondary this April. The Jags play in a division that features Andrew Luck and Marcus Mariota, two of the better quarterbacks in the AFC. Jacksonville should look to draft Jamal Adams with the fourth overall pick, giving them the best safety that this draft class has to offer.

Adams can do it all from his safety position, possessing great closing speed even when he makes a mistake in coverage. Adams is also very good at going up and getting the ball, as he has some of the better hands of the defensive backs in this class. He is going to be an impact player at the next level, and the Jags need someone who can sit back in the defensive backfield and scare opposing quarterbacks from going deep on them.
