Malik Hooker

S, Ohio State

For the first time in over 50 years, the Chargers will call a city outside of San Diego their home. The Bolts made the in-state move to Los Angeles this offseason, and will play their home games inside a soccer stadium for the next two seasons. Unlike the Rams, the Chargers will head to Los Angeles with a roster ready to win right now, though they do have plenty of holes to fill this offseason.

While the offensive line definitely needs help, there should be some very good talent available when the team picks early in the second round. In the first round, the Chargers should look to bring in an impact player in the secondary, and Malik Hooker of Ohio State is one of the top safeties in this class. Hooker did have two surgeries, and is out 4-6 weeks, but he should be back in time for training camp.

The Chargers have not had a standout safety since Eric Weddle moved on to Baltimore, leaving them with a huge hole in the position. Far too often last season, the Chargers were toasted in the secondary, and their offense was not able to keep up with the scoring. This team is going to win games next season, but with a very tough schedule, if they do not improve against the pass, it will be another year left out of the playoffs.
