1. Golden State has three other All-Stars on its roster

Let’s be real. Golden State will be fine without Durant for three big reasons: point guard Stephen Curry, shooting guard Klay Thompson, and power forward Draymond Green. What other NBA team can lose an NBA All-Star and still have three other All-Stars readily available to win ball games on its roster?

Curry is the two-time reigning NBA MVP. Though he hasn’t been as dominant as he was the last two seasons, he is more than capable of flipping on the switching and taking over this basketball team. He’s done it before and he’ll do it again.

Thompson is one of the most versatile players in the NBA. He is one of the few players in the game today that every general manager would want on their basketball team. Thompson is capable of lighting it up from distance with his smooth stroke on 3-pointers, as well as provide elite level wing defense.

Green will probably end up winning Defensive Player of the Year. He is the emotional driving force behind this basketball team. If his teammates get sullen and downtrodden about Durant’s injury, Green will make sure Golden State doesn’t dwell on the uncontrollable. Golden State may have had its ceiling limited with the Durant injury, but it was already a skyscraper to begin with. The Warriors cannot only survive, but can thrive in Durant’s extended absence.
