OG Anunoby

SF/PF, Indiana

The Milwaukee Bucks are building one of the longest teams in the NBA and have been one of the franchises to embrace a move towards position-less basketball. Indiana’s OG Anunoby checks both of those boxes to some degree.

Anunoby is a massive wing. He’s 6-foot-8 with a long wingspan and is basically a position-less defender. Anunoby is quick enough laterally to step out and guard the perimeter and big enough to do battle for stints against larger players in the post. That alone is enough to make him an attractive prospect. Anunoby is also great at creating defensive events as he’s averaged 2.2 blocks and 2.2 steals per 40 minutes in two seasons with the Hoosiers.

Offensively, there are plenty of question marks, though. Anunoby isn’t a good shooter and will need to make significant strides to even be serviceable from behind the arc. He’s at his best as a cutter and offensive rebounder, which will make him a little tougher to fit into NBA offensive schemes.

Teams will also need to dive into Anunoby’s medical records. The sophomore is out for the season after suffering an undisclosed knee injury, but Indiana has said he’s expected to make a full recovery.
