Jonathan Isaac

SF/PF, Florida St.

The Orlando Magic have retooled their roster after trading Serge Ibaka to the Toronto Raptors. Now, they’ll look to rebuild for the future with a top five pick in the 2017 draft.

Florida State’s Jonathan Isaac can slot in at either forward spot and would make for a nice partner next to Aaron Gordon. Isaac has been a relatively low usage players for the Seminoles this season because the team has several ball-dominant players, but he’s been an efficient scorer (63.9 true shooting percentage) when given opportunities. Isaac has hit 37.7 percent of his 3-pointers. His form and peripheral numbers like free throw percentage (80.2) suggest that should continue into the future. Isaac isn’t a great individual creator yet, but he has the potential to become a go-to scoring option down the line.

Defensively, there’s a heap of upside for Isaac. At 6-foot-11, he has tremendous length that translates on the boards and at the rim where he’s a solid weak side shot blocker. Isaac moves well and will be able to guard multiple positions. He badly needs to add some strength to his frame, but otherwise is an exciting defensive prospects.
