New York Giants

NFC East,

In 2015, it was the New York Giants defense that let them down. Last season, it was the offense, as despite having one of the best wide receivers in the league, the unit was way too vanilla. Heading into the 2017 season, the Giants have already let go running back Rashard Jennings and wide receiver Victor Cruz, which means it is time for some new blood. The Giants had a non-existent running game in 2016, and Jamaal Charles could be the answer to those problems moving forward.

Quarterback Eli Manning is still one of the better players at his position in the NFC, but he is definitely starting to get up there in age. The Giants were way too pass happy in 2016, and the defenses were able to pin their ears back against a weak offensive line and really get after him. He cannot afford another season taking that many hits, and bringing in a quality running back would take a ton of pressure off of him in the passing game.

The Giants are very close to being a Super Bowl team, and head coach Ben McAdoo is an offensive genius. He loves to use his running backs in passing situations, and Charles is a player who fits that mold perfectly. One can only imagine the plays a mind like McAdoo would draw up for a player with Charles skills set. For Giants fans, they can only hope the organization pulls the trigger and brings him in for at least the next few seasons if he is healthy.
