San Francisco 49ers – Gerald Hodges

The San Francisco 49ers had a forgettable 2016 NFL season. However, Gerald Hodges was one of their very few bright spots. Pro Football Focus graded him as one of the top 25 linebackers in the NFL last season. Money won’t be an issue because the 49ers have the second most cap space in the league. San Francisco will probably sign quite a few free agents if nothing else because they must to get to the cap floor. However, it would be surprising if any of them prove to be as important as Hodges.

Seattle Seahawks – Calais Campbell

Calais Campbell would make a lot of sense for the Seattle Seahawks. While they have an embarrassment of riches at defensive end, they need some help in the interior of the defensive trenches. Campbell made a seamless transition to defensive tackle last season and had one of his most productive seasons while doing so. Very few free agents would give a significant boost to the Seahawks, but he’s one of them. Because the Seahawks get so much production from undrafted free agents and low round picks, they can afford to splurge on Campbell.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – DeAngelo Williams

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter the 2017 NFL offseason with a questionable at best running back situation. Doug Martin’s future with the team is not certain, so they’re likely going to look to add someone via free agency. DeAngelo Williams is a perfect fit. He likely has enough left in the tank to be the featured back. Also, keep in mind Williams is no stranger to being a productive member of a running back tandem. Even if they go to the draft to find a replacement for Martin, Williams makes sense for the Buccaneers.
