Oakland Raiders – Zach Brown

Credit the Oakland Raiders to massively improving their roster last offseason. They had horrible depth in the trenches and fixed most of those issues. But now the Raiders have to address their linebackers. Perry Riley was solid and, assuming the price is right, Oakland would be wise to re-sign him. But he doesn’t move the needle much. Zach Brown, however, can do so. His inconsistency is frustrating, but he’s a huge upgrade over what the Raiders currently have.

Philadelphia Eagles – Pierre Garcon

The Redskins signed former Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson several years ago. Revenge hasn’t been had, but Philly could make things even by adding former enemy wide receiver Pierre Garcon. He’s a very solid possession receiver, which is what the Eagles need. Jordan Matthews had 73 receptions last year. However, their second and third receivers had a combined 72 receptions. That’s suboptimal, especially for a team with a young quarterback like Carson Wentz. The Redskins likely can’t keep both Jackson and Garcon, so the Eagles would be wise to sign whoever they don’t keep (most likely the latter).

Pittsburgh Steelers – Eddie Lacy

While the Pittsburgh Steelers have a dynamic back in Le’Veon Bell, it’s undeniable he has issues staying on the field. DeAngelo Williams turned out to be a gem for them, but he’s getting old. Instead of re-signing him, the Steelers should sign Eddie Lacy to a short-term deal. He’d add a unique element of power to their already potent offense, one that has been lacking a bit since the retirement of NFL legend Jerome Bettis.
