3. Jacob Tamme

Whoever plays under center for San Fran in 2017 is going to need better weapons in the passing game. Fortunately, Shanahan already knows what tight end Jacob Tamme can do from the duo’s days with the Falcons.

Tamme became a niche target while Shanahan ran the offense in Atlanta, particularly during the 2015 season, when he caught 59 passes for 657 yards. Shoulder surgery ended Tamme’s 2016 season, at a time when he had 22 receptions for 210 yards and three touchdowns to his credit after eight games, per the league’s official website.

The Falcons are prepared to let Tamme go in free agency, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. But he makes too much sense for Shanahan and the Niners to overlook.
