2017 NFL Mock Draft: Mitchell Trubisky to 49ers
By Brad Weiss
It is safe to say the Tyrod Taylor Era in Buffalo is coming to an end, which is a shame considering how well he actually played at times in 2016. The problem is the Bills offered him too much money a few years back, and he is not as good as his current contract says he is. He should definitely find a new home prior to the 2017 season, and with how weak the quarterback position is in the NFL right now, he will likely be a starter.
The Bills have to make a fresh start at the position, which is usually the case when a new head coach comes aboard. Sean McDermott will be getting his first shot at being an NFL head coach, and the odds are he won’t be going with the likes of Taylor, or Cardale Jones at the position next season. DeShone Kizer did not have a great scouting combine, but scouts are definitely drooling over his physical gifts at the quarterback position.
Kizer is a work in progress, but he should eventually be a good player in the NFL. There is no denying he has the arm talent to make all the throws, but it has been his decision making that has come under fire during his time at Notre Dame. He probably should have stayed in South Bend one more season, but with this quarterback class being a tick below next year’s, the time was right for him to strike while the iron is hot.
