2017 NFL Mock Draft: Mitchell Trubisky to 49ers
By Brad Weiss
The Arizona Cardinals made it all the way to the NFC Championship game after the 2015 regular season, only to see their season end at the hands of the Carolina Panthers. Still, the wheels were in motion for this team to be a playoff team for the next few seasons, so it was pretty surprising when they played so inconsistent this past season. However, quarterback Carson Palmer will be returning for another shot at the playoffs in 2017, and will be accompanied by one of the best running backs in football.
David Johnson has become quite the player for the Cardinals, as he is one of the more versatile running backs in the league. He can pretty much do it all from the running back position, as he developed into one of the team’s best receivers last season as well. The Cardinals need to bring in some depth at the wide receiver position in April, and Corey Davis could be the first player off the board at that position in the first round.
Davis is the complete package at the wideout position, and would team with veteran Larry Fitzgerald to form one of better one-two combinations in the NFC West. With Michael Floyd finally out of the way in Arizona, the Cardinals have the right people in place to make another run next season. Davis would give Palmer a nice deep threat to go along with Fitz, who does not have much more football left in him at this point.
