Taco Charlton

DE, Michigan

The Baltimore Ravens failed to reach the postseason once again in 2016, and actually only won 13 games over the past two seasons. Quarterback Joe Flacco is still one of the better signal-callers in the AFC, but he just does not have the weapons needed to put up points on a consistent basis. Due to that, the team has had to rely on their defense, and the unit just is not as good as it has been in years past.

Terrell Suggs will likely end up in the Hall of Fame one day, but his time as an elite pass rusher is coming to an end. If the Ravens want to get back to being a playoff team each season, they are going to have to find good, young talent to put on the defensive side of the ball. Michigan’s Taco Charlton is one of the more versatile players in this draft, and he could be used in a number of roles at the next level.

Baltimore has long been synonymous with having a solid defense, but that has not been the case as of late. In order for the Ravens to compete in the AFC North, they are going to have to do what they do best, and that is getting after the quarterback consistently. Charlton is an elite pass rusher, and someone with his size and speed is going to be a nasty player at the next level. Just what the fans in Baltimore love.
