OT, Wisconsin

The Denver Broncos failed to make the playoffs in 2016, after winning the Super Bowl the year before with Peyton Manning as their quarterback. Manning retired after the season, forcing the Broncos to rest the franchise’s hopes on Brock Osweiler. Well, Osweiler bolted to Houston, where he played horribly all season, and the door was open for Trevor Siemian to lead the Broncos last season.

Siemian played very well down the stretch, though he did not  get much help in the run game. The biggest disappointment last season for the Broncos was the play of their offensive line, which needs a serious upgrade in 2017. The team already led Russell Okung walk, leaving a gaping hole on the left side of the line, though one that could certainly be filled by Ryan Ramczyk of Wisconsin.

Ramczyk comes into the 2017 NFL Draft as the top-rated offensive tackle in the class, though players like Garett Bolles and Cam Robinson could also get some first-round love. Ramczyk was the anchor of the Badgers’ offensive line during his time in college, helping clear the way for 1,000 yard rushers like Corey Coleman and Melvin Gordon. The Broncos need help up front, and with an elite defense returning, a bolstered offensive line could make them a playoff team in 2017.
