Marshon Lattimore

CB, Ohio State

If the Tennessee Titans do win a Super Bowl in the near future, historians will look back on the 2017 NFL Draft as the year they cemented their place as a perennial playoff team. The Titans have a boatload of draft picks in April, including two in the first round, with the No. 5 pick coming via the Los Angeles Rams. The Titans traded the No. 1 overall pick in 2016 to the Rams for this pick, and a few others, and they could not be in a better position to advance the franchise as they are right now.

Quarterback Marcus Mariota continues to develop into one of the better young players at his position in the league, and did wonders last season despite some holes on the offense. The defense played well in spurts as well, but the organization has to shore up the secondary this offseason. Selecting a cornerback at No. 5 has to be the play for the Titans, and luckily for them, this draft class is loaded with talent at the position.

Marshon Lattimore has established himself as the class of the cornerbacks in this draft, and his game is going to equate perfectly to the NFL. He has the size and speed to be a lock-down cornerback on the outside, while also possessing one of the better football I.Q.’s of any defensive player in this draft. The Buckeyes were one of the tougher defenses in college football with Lattimore at corner, and the he could have that kind of impact at the next level starting next season.
