3. Bill O’Brien

Romo has spent the bulk of his professional career playing under offensive-minded head coach Jason Garrett with the Cowboys. Playing for offensive-minded Andy Reid in Kansas City could be appealing, but partnering with offensive-minded Bill O’Brien might be the best late career move for Romo to make.

O’Brien had been Brady’s quarterbacks coach in New England before leaving to go coach the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Big Ten. While his teams have been playoff-caliber the last three years, O’Brien hasn’t had anything close to a competent quarterback in Houston.

One would think that O’Brien would be over the moon to land a player as proven as Romo to be his new quarterback. He’d finally get to coach in an unencumbered manner. O’Brien wouldn’t have to worry about his signal callers’ limitations, he can just tell Romo to let it rip.

It seems like a head coach/quarterback partnership that both would certainly appreciate. They could bring out the best in each other and have the Texans contending for Super Bowls for the next four seasons.
