2. Just look at that Texans defense

Having a good head coach to work with is important, but having a top-tier defense is the easiest way for a good quarterback to contend for a Super Bowl. One could argue that Houston had the best defense in football last year. It should have one of the very best again this season.

If Houston had a clue at quarterback last year, the Texans could have beaten the Patriots in the AFC Playoffs, maybe winning the Super Bowl. It was great at all three levels with players like Jadeveon Clowney, Brian Cushing, and A.J. Bouye having strong years.

While Dallas was at least respectable defensively last season, the Cowboys defense isn’t in the realm of what Houston has going for it. Yes, Denver and Kansas City have strong defenses, too. However, Houston looks to have more dynamic playmakers offensively than those two teams. It really just needs a quarterback like Romo to set it off.

Romo made a name for himself as a great engineer of fourth-quarter comebacks in Dallas. He will always be in a game if playing for the Texans because of that defense. Romo wouldn’t have to carry the Texans on his back to the degree that he had to for years with the Cowboys. The Texans defense would have his back.
