5 reasons Alshon Jeffery signing is good for Eagles

2. Jeffery will be motivated to return to Pro Bowl form
The Eagles were wisely careful not to hand Jeffery a long-term contract on a silver platter. They know what he is capable of when he is healthy, and stays on the field and out of trouble. Jeffery made the Pro Bowl in 2013 after an amazing season, and he will certainly be motivated to reach that level of play again. He still has a lot to gain since he will continue his quest to earn a long-term contract worth tens of millions.
A new environment may also be just what the doctor ordered for Jeffery. The Eagles improved to 7-9 in Wentz’s rookie season and figure to produce a winning season if all goes well. If the Eagles can come close or even reach the playoffs, Jeffery will easily feel inclined to stay long-term with the Eagles. The Eagles would in turn love to keep Jeffery around as Wentz’s top weapon for the long haul if he can stay on the field at all times.
Jeffery will easily become a perennial 1,000-yard receiver if everything goes well for him in the City of Brotherly Love. Nonetheless, it will be up to his quarterback to make his promising potential a reality.
