Second Round

41

Haason Reddick

Outside Linebacker, Temple Owls

Cincinnati has a lot of needs all across its football team. While he is tabbed as an edge rusher, there is a great chance that Temple Owls outside linebacker Haason Reddick could end up being the best second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Reddick had by far and away the best weekend in Mobile at the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl. It is debatable if he lost a rep during the three-day practice sessions. Reddick proved in Mobile that he can at least hold his own at pretty much every position but nose tackle in a front-seven.

His football IQ is off the charts and Reddick looks to be an imposing Swiss Army knife at the next level. The Bengals could use him in a variety of defensive packages. He could play defensive end in a 4-3 look, an outside linebacker in 3-4. With his raw athleticism, Reddick might even be able to play some inside linebacker in the dime. Who knows? This guy has the potential to be really special.

For now, Cincinnati can feel confident about taking Reddick at No. 41 in the second round to use him as a pass rusher coming off the edge. Over time, his versatility will prove why he might end up being a multi-time Pro Bowler before hanging up the spikes many years from now.
