5 NBA teams that should sign Omri Casspi for a playoff run

For all their regular season success since Chris Paul’s arrival, the Los Angeles Clippers continue to fall short in the postseason. They have yet to make the Conference Finals and this could be their last chance as currently constructed. Both Blake Griffin and Chris Paul can opt for free agency this summer.
We all know the Clippers’ roster does not lack star power. And to their credit, they have the sixth-highest scoring bench in the NBA. The bad news is the Clippers get a putrid 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game combined from the three small forwards on their roster.
This lack of frontcourt depth has proven and will continue to prove insufficient if the Clippers are to contend for a championship. The Clippers can get more production from those 12.4 minutes per game they currently allocate to Wesley Johnson.
Omri Casspi would thrive alongside Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. The Sacramento Kings’ best lineup this season included Casspi, Darren Collison, and DeMarcus Cousins. The Kings were +27.8 points per 100 possessions for the 101 minutes this trio was on the floor.
Because Casspi can play both forward spots, this would give the Clippers better options to counteract smaller opposing lineups. Whether he were to start or come off the bench, Casspi will be freed up regularly to accent the bevy of offensive talent on the Clippers’ roster.
Suddenly, the teams atop the standings appear vulnerable so the Clippers have to capitalize. Or do you think they plan to unleash what’s left of Paul Pierce for the postseason? He’s logged 47 DNP’s so far this season, so we know his legs will be fresh.
