The Brooklyn Nets are out of playoff contention, but don’t tell point guard Jeremy Lin that. Here’s Lin with a crazy layup versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Needless to say, it’s been a tough season for the Brooklyn Nets. They were the first team to be eliminated from playoff contention and won’t have the subsequent lottery pick that comes with that level of mediocrity.

Apparently point guard Jeremy Lin didn’t get the memo. He’s still playing out of his mind for the Nets. Linsanity was only five years ago and Lin seems to have channeled the best part of him on this ridiculous layup against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Lin puts a move on Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook that puts the whole Oklahoma City defense out of sorts. Center Steven Adams has to move out of the paint on a switch, leaving a lane for Lin to drive to the basket. That’s his favorite thing to do on the basketball court.

Lin leaves his feet and stays airborne for pretty much a fortnight before kissing the ball high off the glass for a potential and-one opportunity. He didn’t get the call, but his layup on the Thunder defense was something else.

This was Lin’s first season with the Nets. He signed with Brooklyn for a few reasons this past summer. Lin first came to fame while across town with the New York Knicks. He envisioned himself as a starting point guard in the NBA. Brooklyn needed a starting point guard. Lin also wanted to be reunited with his former New York assistant coach in Kenny Atkinson, now running the ship in Brooklyn.

The 2016-17 NBA season didn’t turn out so well for Atkinson, Lin or the Nets, but there is reason to believe things will get better next year. Or not, as Brooklyn will likely be the worst team in basketball next season. That layup was sweet though.
