Alex Anzalone

Outside Linebacker, Florida

Alex Anzalone is a very intriguing prospect. While he hasn’t been able to stay on the field, he impressed a lot of people at the 2017 Senior Bowl. Guess who coached the South team? Yup, the Browns. They’re familiar with him and they certainly need help at outside linebacker. The Cleveland Browns would be wise to take a flyer on him here. If Anzalone can stay healthy, he could be the steal of the draft.

James Conner

Running Back, Pittsburgh

The Cleveland Browns have a very uncertain future at running back. Depending on what they decide to do with Isaiah Crowell, they might need a guy who can step in immediately. Conner has a similar skill set to Crowell, so if they lose him, it won’t be a huge issue. He has a lot of potential, as he showed he can be a versatile back. Conner has major injury issues, as he missed all of his junior season. However, with 46 combined touchdowns in his last two college seasons, he could be a huge value pick here.

Joshua Dobbs

Quarterback, Tennessee

Considering their uncertainty at quarterback, the Browns should consider drafting a developmental guy. Joshua Dobbs from Tennessee is a perfect candidate. He has the size and physical attributes teams love to see in quarterbacks. Dobbs needs to be more consistent and has sketchy at best mechanics. But Hue Jackson works well with quarterbacks so maybe he can help turn him into an NFL starter or at least a backup. That’s a heck of a lot better than most teams do with fifth round picks.

T.J. Logan

Running Back, North Carolina

T.J. Logan caught everyone’s attention at the NFL combine by running a 4.37 40 yard dash. The 5-foot-9, 196-pound running back has explosiveness, averaging 5.4 yards per carry during his career. In his senior year, Logan combined for 12 touchdowns (seven rushing, three receiving, two return) and over 1,500 all purpose yards. Running backs who can do damage in open space are coveted, especially if they’re versatile. If nothing else, Logan’s an interesting project as a returner. He could jump in right away and make a difference.
