Second Round

57

Dorian Johnson

Guard, Pittsburgh Panthers

Houston may want to upgrade the interior of its offensive line in the upcoming draft. It’s a sure-fire way to ensure whomever is playing quarterback has a fair chance to not get his head ripped off like Petey the Parakeet playing behind it.

The Pittsburgh Panthers run a pro-style offense in the ACC. Maybe the Texans will want to go with a guy like guard Dorian Johnson to help establish pocket integrity at No. 57 in the second round?

This is not a deep offensive line draft by any means. Western Kentucky’s Forrest Lamp might actually go ahead of the Texans at No. 25. Unless Houston is willing to move up into the top 40 in the second round, there is no chance they can get a player like Lamp to help on the interior.

Offensive linemen had been safe picks in past drafts, but that does not seem to be the case. Pittsburgh has had one of the most adaptable offenses the last few years. Johnson looks to be talented, coachable, and worthy of that second round selection for the Texans.
