The Replay: March Madness, part 1

March Madness is here, and And El and Al are almost as excited as Dickie V. To kick off the NCAA Men’s Tournament, El and Al share their thoughts on reasons NBA fans should care about the college games.

To begin, we recap our Ivy Madness weekend. Al met El’s entire family and watched eight hours of basketball with them. Not surprisingly, she thrived. El found a new dating prospect in the Princeton men’s head coach, and we determined that Tommy Amaker needs smaller dress pants.

We give a birthday shoutout to one of our favorite trolls, Joel “The Process” Embiid. This launches us into a deep discussion of the current Kansas Jayhawks team and their tournament outlook. Despite some off the court issues this season, we conclude that great hair and Frank Mason III might be enough for a National Championship run. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Listen: A look at Linsanity, five years later

Next, Al shares some fun facts about the college coaches she likes and the ones she hates. We then discuss hot celeb sightings at the tournament. Elaine from Seinfeld’s son plays for Northwestern and Bill Murray is everywhere. We grieve briefly for Tom Crean and speculate as to whether Steve Alford will leave the sunshine of SoCal AND the Ball brothers to be a Hoosier again.

Last but not least, we play a quick game of Who Said It – Lavar Ball, Charles Barkley… or Donald Trump. El finds this game EXTREMELY difficult. We truly hope you fare better but we highly doubt you will. Don’t worry, we will be covering more March Madness in the coming weeks.

As always, we hope you enjoyed the show. If you did, spread the love! Download it, rate if five stars, tweet about it, send it to the college roommate you haven’t spoken with in awhile. Every little bit helps!
