High Salary SF

Robert Covington – Philadelphia 76ers ($6800): I absolutely love Covington tonight against the weak defense and rebounding of the Orlando Magic. I’ll be stacking him with Dario Saric and hope that both exceed value and have big games. You can also put Covington a power forward, but I like him anywhere tonight. I’m predicting a double-double tonight and although we know his shot is erratic he can also get hot, especially from distance.

Nicolas Batum – Charlotte Hornets ($6700): We wrote earlier in the piece that Batum returned to action Saturday after missing two games due to migraine headaches. He played 27 minutes on Saturday but you can expect a full workload tonight against an Atlanta team that doesn’t defend well against shooting guards, especially with Kent Bazemore out. Batum’s salary is down to $6700 and we know his ceiling is over 50. He looks like an excellent play tonight, and you can also play him at shooting guard.

Will Barton – Denver Nuggets ($7300): With Danilo Gallinari out again for the Nugs, Barton is a solid option against Houston in what should be a fantasy point bonanza. Barton laid a big egg against Houston on Saturday hitting on just 2-of-13 from the field and only 1-of-9 from 3-point range, but expect much bigger totals tonight.

Carmelo Anthony – New York Knicks ($8200): There aren’t a lot of big names available at small forward tonight, but Melo gets to throw down against the Clippers. Melo’s much better at home, but he can be played at small forward or power forward. He had one of his better games of the season against the Clippers in their previous meeting, putting up 28 and 9 for a total of 47.75 FP. The Clippers are actually a bottom ten defense against small forwards, so Melo is worth some consideration tonight. But if I’m spending $8K plus on a player it’s probably going to be someone other than Melo.
