High Value SF

Matt Barnes – Golden State Warriors ($4300): It’s a light night for value at the small forward position, but Barnes has been solid in his new role for the Warriors. Steve Kerr has given Barnes run over Patrick McCaw and that seems unlikely to change. Until Kevin Durant returns to action, Barnes looks like a decent value play.

Taurean Prince – Atlanta Hawks ($3500): Rookies off the bench are always risky, but with both Kent Bazemore and Paul Millsap out, Prince should get something close to the 31 and 29 minutes he’s received in his last two games. He has 24 FP in his last game and 32.5 in the previous game, so he’s producing when given the run.

Joe Johnson – Utah Jazz ($4200): When Derrick Favors went down most people assumed Trey Lyles would get most of the minutes, but instead they went to Joe Johnson. It’s a smart move to ramp up the minutes for JJ, especially since he should be a solid part of their rotation come playoff time. JJ has played 28 or minutes in his last four games. Favors is almost certainly out again tonight, so Johnson makes for a nice value play at small forward.

Terrence Ross – Orlando Magic ($4500): Ross is a $4500 player only due to the stater’s minutes he receives. His production of late has been lacking, to put it kindly. He hasn’t topped 20 fantasy points in a game for almost two weeks, but he has been shooting the ball much better of late. He definitely has a high ceiling if he can knock down shots and contribute a bit more in the other stats. This is truly a dart throw though.
