Nico Siragusa

Guard, San Diego State

This isn’t a very good draft for top tier offensive line prospects, but there could be some gems in the mid to late rounds. The brightest one could be Nico Siragusa from San Diego State. Jacksonville needs to add another guard to their offensive line. Right now, the free agent market is looking weak. So why not draft one? Siragusa could be ready to contribute in Week 1, but the Jacksonville Jaguars would be wise to sign someone to a deal with minimal guaranteed money in case he isn’t.

Siragusa blocked for the NCAA’s all-time leader in yards from scrimmage. Don’t think it’s a coincidence either since Donnel Pumphrey ran behind him for most of those yards. However, a weak Senior Bowl performance likely knocks him out of the first three rounds. Siragusa did well at the NFL combine, so maybe the Senior Bowl was merely a bad week for him.

He will likely start at right guard, as this will help make the transition into the NFL easier for him. But he does have the potential to be a solid left guard. Even if all Siragusa is a right guard, that’s fine. He should be great there. Anytime you can get a starter in the fourth round, you’re doing well.
