Positional Power Rankings: 30 best power forwards in the NBA
By John Buhler
Milwaukee Bucks power forward Mirza Teletovic is the first one of these guys that classifies as a modern four. He’s been a viable outside shooter for a while and can be a great rotational player on a playoff team.
Teletovic has shown that he can pivot as an NBA professional. The teams he plays for may not be world-beaters, but he can pick up a new offense very quickly. He’s not as quick laterally to be a starting-level player at the stretch four, but he’s tactically sound to spot start for a team at power forward if need be.
Like what Channing Frye has become in recent years, Teletovic will end up being one of those players that will bounce from team to team but for a good reason. Clubs will want a forward, a three or a four, that can space the floor with a smooth stroke from the outside.
While lateral quickness ultimately capsizes his chances at being a great player, Teletovic can be a good one on any team he plays for. In a great situation, he could be the seventh or eight guy in a rotation that can make clutch shots and play competent defense in the frontcourt off the bench. If a team is rebuilding, Teletovic is the type of player whose work ethic will show the young kids on a roster what it takes to be a professional.
