Solomon Thomas

DL, Stanford

Solomon Thomas has been shooting up the draft boards as of late, and rightfully so. The standout defensive lineman from Stanford is a rare blend of size and speed, and should be able to fit in any defensive scheme at the next level. The Carolina Panthers need some help up front, and bringing in Thomas would give them an elite pass rusher, as well as someone who can help against the run.

The 2016 NFL season was a struggle for the Panthers, who came into the year fresh off a berth in Super Bowl 50. They were manhandled in the game by the Broncos, though many expected them back in the playoffs in 2016. That did not happen, and because of that, an already stacked roster will get to pick in the top-ten picks come April.

Carolina brought Julius Peppers home this offseason, adding a strong pass rusher to the fold for next season. Adding Thomas would give the team a devastating line on defense, as they also brought back Charles Johnson and Mario Addison this past month. The NFC South is an offensive division, so anything the Panthers can do to counteract that will serve them well next season.
