2017 NFL Draft: Los Angeles Chargers 7-round mock
The Chargers will look to beef up their offensive line here. Beef in a literal sense as Banner stands at 6’8”, 358 pounds. He is not very mobile, and while he played tackle at USC, he slots best in the NFL as a right guard. The Chargers have a hole at right guard, with Donovan Clark currently set to start. Banner is a mauler on the inside and can help in the run game. He has experience and pedigree and may be able to compete for a starting job next season. Finding that in the late rounds would be great in this draft.
The Chargers losing Danny Woodhead is a bit underrated this offseason. As mentioned, Rivers thrives in the short passing game, and Woodhead was a perfect weapon to have. McGuire has the chance to replicate that role coming from UL-Lafayette. He is a great receiving back, but can also find space between the tackles. He is an upgrade from Brandon Oliver and should be a great compliment to Melvin Gordon.

The Chargers are hoping for some special teams help with this pick. They may be losing Manti T’eo this season and could use the depth at linebacker.
