Terrance Ferguson

SG/SF, Adelaide

Pegging down the draft stock of Terrance Ferguson, a five-star high school recruit who played overseas in Australia last season, is a tough task because the 18-year old has an abundance of talent and physical tools, but struggled to have those translate on the court while playing for Adelaide. At his best, Ferguson is a potential 3-and-D wing with the athleticism to become something more. At the moment, though, it’s unclear how those skills will translate, if at all.

He averaged just under 15 minutes per game for Adelaide and scored only 4.6 points per contest. Ferguson made a meager 31.3 percent of his 3-point attempts this season. His performance in the McDonald’s All-American Game as a senior that saw a hot shooting night earn him MVP honors still stands out as an example of what he’s capable of.

Defensively, Ferguson didn’t really rebound or create blocks or steals for the 36ers. At 6-foot-7 with a 6-foot-10 wingspan, he has the size to be a versatile defender at the next level, but he hasn’t shown it yet.

Buoying Ferguson is his youth. He’s still only 18-years old and will be one of the youngest players in this draft class, which means he’s got a bit more growing room than the other prospects.
