4. Skai Moore’s return to the South Carolina gridiron

One of the better storylines for South Carolina football this spring will be the return of redshirt senior inside linebacker Skai Moore. He had to miss his entire 2016 senior season after undergoing season-ending neck surgery to fix a herniated disc.

Moore could have, in theory, gone pro after last season or retired from football. However, he is back for one more season to help get this Gamecocks football program back for good. When healthy, Moore is one of the best players on this South Carolina defense and emotional leader for the team.

In his first three years with the Gamecocks, Moore made a name for himself across the SEC. He was an SEC All-Freshman First-Team selection in 2013. In 2015, Moore was named a team captain and was All-SEC Second-Team member.

Moore may not play much in the Garnet and Black Game, but his face on the South Carolina sideline will have Gamecock Nation excited about the upcoming season. Getting a player back of Moore’s caliber could make South Carolina a serious threat in the SEC East this year.
