2017 NFL Draft: New York Giants 7-round mock
By John Buhler
Second Round
Western Michigan had its best season in school history in 2016. The Broncos went undefeated during the regular season, won the MAC Championship over Ohio and got to play the Wisconsin Badgers in the Cotton Bowl as the Group of 5’s At-Large bid.
Wide receiver Corey Davis and head coach P.J. Fleck took the bulk of the notoriety for the Broncos’ historic season. However, they had a few other players that were really good in their own right. One of those guys was offensive tackle Taylor Moton.
At worst, Moton will be a solid swing tackle in the NFL for a handful of years. New York still isn’t a sure thing up front. It’s almost as if Moton will be a better right tackle than a left tackle in this league. As offensive lines continue to struggle in the NFL due to the current CBA, getting a good player in the draft at any offensive line position can’t be overlooked.
Moton will be able to come in and help the Giants right away. Zach Terrell was a good quarterback for the Broncos, so Moton knows a thing or two about pass protection. If he’s solid at run blocking, then Moton might be the pick for the Giants to make at No. 55 in the second round.
