Tim Williams

Outside Linebacker, Alabama

If the Dallas Cowboys can significantly improve their pass rush, they can offset what will likely be an inexperienced secondary. In order to do this, they’ll need to draft immediate contributors. Tim Williams from Alabama has all the makings of being an elite pass rusher.

One could argue if you’re looking solely at getting after the quarterback, he’s the second best in the draft at it (trailing only Myles Garrett). However, Williams has some weaknesses. For one, he was never a three down player for the Crimson Tide. But to be fair, Alabama has almost unheard of linebacker depth.

The more relevant red flags revolve around his off the field issues. In September, Williams was involved in a firearms incident. He wasn’t convicted, but still, it’s never a good sign to be caught in something involving a gun. Williams also had marijuana issues, which is an obvious red flag for any NFL team.

In the past, the Dallas Cowboys have shown they’re more than willing to take on talented players, even if they have character concerns. Williams would be an amazing fit for their defense, providing them with a guy who could put up double digit sacks in his first season.
