Andrew Luck

Quarterback, Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay finally came to his senses and decided to move on from horrible general manager Ryan Grigson. He opted to hire former Kansas City Chiefs executive Chris Ballard to help get this football team back to contention.

The reason for this change in the front office was a simple one: Indianapolis has Andrew Luck as its starting quarterback. Grison could not put a winning product around the best pro quarterback prospect since John Elway in five years with the Colts.

Luck has all the tools to be an all-timer. He already led a sub-par 2014 Colts team to the AFC Championship. When he gets an offensive line that isn’t a wet paper bag or a defense that doesn’t leak like a sieve any more, Luck can take the Colts to the promised land.

Luck’s 2016 season was an average one. He completed 63.5 percent of his passes for 4,240 yards, 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Should he put up numbers like that  with a better supporting cast around him, Luck can win Super Bowls in Indianapolis.

For at least another year, Luck will still be considered an ideal quarterback to start an NFL franchise with from the ground up. However, he will be 28 in 2017. It is time for him to elevate the Colts. Missing the AFC Playoffs for a third year in a row will change the narrative of his once-promising NFL career.
