30 pro wrestling must-follows on Twitter
No. 19: Big E. (WWE)
Twitter handle: @WWEBigE
When I was looking to put a picture up to talk about Big E. of The New Day, there was one option and one option only and it was the one you see above with Rich Swann, Sasha Banks, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods (more on him in a little bit).
At one time, five black stars in WWE held the Cruiserweight Championship, the WWE Tag Team Championship and the Raw Women’s Championship. Obviously, titles change in their look and their name, but I don’t think that had ever happened where three different championships were being held by African-Americans in WWE.
Big E’s choice of caption for this picture: #BlackExcellence.
Not only did it get people talking, it was a perfect usage of Twitter and of social media. Sure, don’t get me wrong, I love when Big E. tweets like this below because it’s the best just like him.
But seriously, Tinashe is gorgeous and Big E. can relate to the rest of us that have ever laid eyes on her. She’s going to be great at WrestleMania.
As for the point of what Big E’s message was in the photo with Swann, Banks and his New Day brothers, it was a big deal. It was monumental in this industry. Heck, I even still use the #BlackExcellence hashtag even when it has nothing to do with wrestling gold. It was a message that was heard by many across the globe and got people talking.
Big E’s a smart guy and you’d be smart to follow him on Twitter BE-CAUSE…
…well, you know the rest.
