No. 9: Vince Russo

Twitter handle: @THEVinceRusso

OK, look … let’s be honest here: Vince Russo is one of the most polarizing figures in the history of pro wrestling. To be even more honest, Russo is also one of the most hated figures in wrestling.

What gained Russo notoriety before his infamous bookings in World Championship Wrestling was his work as the lead writer for the World Wrestling Federation during the Attitude Era when WWF was in the Monday Night Wars with WCW themselves.

Russo was part of the reason that WWF was able to get the upper hand on WCW in the end for two reasons: 1) Because WWF took off to new heights with established stars everywhere and 2) Russo, Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan (and many others) all contributed in the demise of WCW.

Today, Russo (like our next name on this list) has a show on the PodcastOne Network called Vince Russo’s The Brand and continues to tweet. Or, sort of.

But then, you see tweeting like this and you wonder if WCW actually exists somewhere still and nobody knows about it.

If WCW Spring Stampede still was around, booking Vince Russo vs. Disco Inferno in a Triple Cage match would probably be the main event because the later years of WCW was that nonsensical.

Whether you enjoy Russo’s weird ranting or storytelling in the present day, he (and others like him such as Jim Cornette) remains a curious Twitter follow. And when I say curious, I mean he’s interesting. Let’s just leave it at that.
