Malik McDowell

DT, Michigan State

The Washington Redskins are having a rough offseason, as their front office continues to not be able to get out of their own way. They let go of their general manager, mostly because he was doing too well, and failed to give a long-term deal to their star quarterback. To make matters worse, they saw their two best wide receivers walk, replacing them with Terrell Pryor, who has one year of experience playing the position.

Washington plays in one of the deepest divisions in football, and after missing the playoffs in 2016, they cannot afford to take another step back next season. The Redskins won the NFC East in 2015, but since then, they have been making some pretty questionable moves with their roster. They have weaknesses on the offensive, and defensive line, and bringing in someone to play up front on defense has to be a priority.

Malik McDowell has been dropping in some of the mock drafts as of late, but he stays right in the middle of the first round here. He has the size and speed to play all over the defensive line, and the Redskins need someone with his skill set, especially in the NFC East. It remains to be seen what this team is actually going to look like in Week 1, but one thing is for sure, if they do not get better up front on both sides of the ball, it is going to be another year outside of the playoffs.
