2017 NFL Mock Draft: Browns bolster roster
By Brad Weiss
The Oakland Raiders were in the headlines this past week for reasons other than any kind of roster moves they might have made. The Raiders will be leaving Oakland, and are expected to move into their new digs in Las Vegas for the 2020 NFL season. They will still play in Oakland until then, though 2019 may be off the table considering their lease with the stadium will be up and the Mayor does not want them there.
In regards to their roster, the Raiders have been fairly busy in past weeks, bringing in Jared Cook to be the main tight end in 2017. He fills a void on the offensive side of the ball, though it is in their defensive secondary where they need the most help. Oakland needs to bring in some depth at the cornerback position, and luckily for them, this draft is loaded with talent in that area.
Quincy Wilson is one half of an incredible cornerback duo from the Florida Gators, though he will likely be the only one going in the first round. Wilson has the ability to shut down top receivers, and proved he could be a dominant force in a very tough SEC during his time in Gainesville. Oakland brought in Sean Smith to team with David Amerson at corner last offseason, but with both players have down years, it may be time to put another player into the mix.
