Jonathan Allen

DL, Alabama

The Tennessee Titans will be picking in the top-5 pick despite the fact they nearly made the playoffs last season. That is because they traded away the No. 1 overall pick to the Los Angeles Rams prior to last year’s draft, and will now pick twice in the first 18 selections. They have already done a nice job bringing in talent to bolster their defensive backfield, now it is time to put another solid player up front on the defensive line.

Jonathan Allen has had a rough go as of late, as teams are worried his shoulders are  going to be an issue at the next level. They won’t be, and he will be a dominant player in the NFL, just as he was as the leader of the Alabama Crimson Tide defense. The Titans need help up front on defense, and Allen would be a great pick at No. 5 in April.

Allen has the ability to play all over the defensive line, and is going to be solid at getting after the quarterback. The AFC South is a very winnable division, and while the Titans could use some help at wide receiver, being able to get push against the likes of Jacksonville, Indianapolis, and Houston is going to be key. The team came very close to making the playoffs last season, and with a healthy Marcus Mariota back under center, they should break through in 2017.
