Marshon Lattimore

CB, Ohio State

The New York Jets went into the 2016 season with high expectations, especially after narrowly missing the playoffs the year before. With a cast of veterans in place, it looked like they would definitely be battling out for at least a Wildcard spot. Well, the team absolutely crumbled, and they have spent this current offseason unloading some of their most talented, and seasoned veterans.

As they look to rebuild the franchise, head coach Todd Bowles needs to get back to where he started, which is being an elite defensive coach. At No. 6, some people think they are going to pick a quarterback, but we feel they will go with the other side of the ball. They need help in the secondary, and with Darrelle Revis gone, the Jets need to find their next great cornerback.

That player could be Marshon Lattimore, who is the top cornerback in a loaded draft class at the position. He instantly slides right in as the team’s top guy on the depth chart, which now features Morris Claiborne, who played last season with the Dallas Cowboys. The Jets need a lot of help, but with Bowles fighting for his job, do not expect him to draft a project quarterback at this point in his tenure with the team.
