Reuben Foster

LB, Alabama

The Cincinnati Bengals suffered through a rough 2016 season, and if they do not turn it around in 2017, it could spell the end for head coach Marvin Lewis. Lewis has been one of the better regular season coaches in the league during his time with the Bengals, but has still yet to win a playoff game. The AFC North is going to be up for grabs next season, and the Bengals have the talent on the roster to make a serious run.

This offseason, the Bengals have done little to improve the defense. They did re-sign cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, but they also said goodbye to a leader in the middle of their unit. Rey Maualuga was released by the team last week, making the linebacker position an area of need in next month’s NFL Draft. Reuben Foster of Alabama is the best player at his position in this draft, and he would be a perfect fit for Lewis in Cincy.

Foster has had a rough go since the Crimson Tides’ loss in the National Championship Game, as he was asked to leave the NFL Scouting Combine after a run-in with a hospital worker. Those around the league have said it will not affect his draft stock, but we have seen him fall in a number of mock drafts leading up to the draft. We feel he stays in the first ten picks, and with Lewis, he will have a perfect coach to get him moving in the right direction at the next level.
