2. Richard Sherman to the Raiders

Trade: Sherman for Oakland’s first and third round picks (Nos. 24 & 88)

At 29 years old, Sherman remains one of the best corners in the league. Yet, there are constant rumors swirling about the Seahawks’ willingness to move on for the right price. Sherman is signed through the 2018 season, although he could be cut before next year, with his team saving $11 million against the cap.

Seattle has plenty of big numbers on the books from Earl Thomas to Russell Wilson, so trading Sherman while he has peak value isn’t a bad move. The perfect suitor resides in Sherman’s home state of California. The Raiders went 12-4 last year despite having an atrocious corner situation with D.J. Hayden, David Amerson and the underwhelming Sean Smith. Acquiring Sherman would be a huge boon to a team looking for its first postseason win since 2002.

Sherman would also have familiarity with the defense. Oakland defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. was Seattle’s linebackers coach for five seasons. The fit is perfect financially and on the field for a  player who may have two or three more elite years in him, trying to win one more ring. In addition, nobody fits the Raiders’ swagger better than Sherman, who would be a tremendous leader on a young defense.
