High Salary C

Karl-Anthony Towns – Minnesota Timberwolves ($10400): Towns is a machine. He usually plays close to 40 minutes each and every night and he gets about 20 shots, sometimes more. His ceiling is high and his floor rarely drops below 45. He’s a threat to go to 60 or more every night and he’s always a solid GPP play, especially against a team like the Kings who have been particularly bad against centers and bigs of late.

Nikola Vucevic – Orlando Magic ($7600): Vuccy put up 50.5 FP in his only game against the Nets this season and Brooklyn is one of the worst defensive teams against centers. I expect Vuccy to go HAM tonight with a high-40s or 50s game in what will be a high-scoring affair.

Brook Lopez – Brooklyn Nets ($6700): Lopez will be up against Vuccy tonight and neither one is known for their defense. Lopez had 41 FP in one game against the Magic this season, and both he and Vuccy should hit or exceed value tonight. I’m more partial to Vuccy, but Lopez will save you $900 that you can spend elsewhere.

Dwight Howard – Atlanta Hawks ($8000): Dwight has increased usage with Paul Millsap out of the lineup and he’s going to need to continue to have games like his 56 FP effort against Philly Wednesday night. The Hawks have had two full days off so D12 should be rested and ready to rock against Chicago tonight. 50 seems a but high given his previous performances against the Bulls this season, but those included Millsap. I like Towns better tonight but see the sense in playing Dwight tonight.

Gorgui Dieng – Minnesota Timberwolves ($6200): Thibs has found his new Joakim Noah in Minnesota and his name is Gorgui Dieng. Dieng had 46.25 against the Lakers on Thursday night and tonight gets a solid matchup against the Kings. Thibs is still running him out there for about 40 minutes per game, so Dieng has ample opportunities to crash the boards and tally fantasy points. He didn’t do this well last week, but another 40 minutes tonight should yield at least 5-6x value.
