Catcher

High-Salary Option

Buster Posey $3300

Posey had 24 total bases in 16 games last year against the Diamondbacks. Those stats almost guarantee that Posey will put up points against this team. Last year on Opening Day against the Brewers, Buster hit a home run along with a single, starting off the season hot. If that is not enough reason to start him, Posey has a career .324 average against Zach Greinke, proving that he will have no problem finding pitches to hit against the Diamondback’s ace. I expect Posey to start off on fire again this year with a good game at the plate in Arizona. ****

Mid-Range Option

Willson Contreras $2900

Contreras had a total of 29 at-bats last year against the Cardinals. He finished with a 0.345 average with 10 hits and three home runs! If you are not paying up for Posey, Contreras is the next best catcher on such a small slate, and either one of them are capable of having a huge day! ***

High-Value Option

Yadier Molina $2600

Last year Molina had 68 plate appearances against the Chicago Cubs. He finished with a .324 average with 22 hits and eight runs batted in. Getting this type of production out of a catcher in this price range is a steal! The only downside here is the pitching matchup against Lester, but Molina has the experience and numbers to warrant a spot on your roster. **
